In a recent interview, I had the chance to speak to the very delightful Tom Blyth (Billy the Kid)
Tom and I talk "Billy the Kid", Tom and Billy both having UK roots, Billy the Kid is much deeper than meets the eye, how Tom would end the show and the temptation for a Shawshank Redemption ending.
In Season 2 of Billy the Kid, Billy gets caught in the middle of the Lincoln County War, a murderous conflict driven by money, greed and corruption. After enjoying a monopoly, Murphy's Store is no longer the only player in town when Englishman John Tunstall moves to Lincoln and sets off a commercial rivalry. Law-and-order is no match for cowboy gangs and a secret society. Wild chases and shootouts abound. There are innumerable ambushes and killings. No-one is safe. After a pivotal assassination, things get very ugly, leaving Billy the Kid with an uncertain fate. Will he make it out of the Lincoln County War alive?
Tom Keir Blyth is an English actor. His films include Scott and Sid (2018), Benediction (2021), The Hunger Games, Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023). He stars as the titular character of the MGM+ series Billy the Kid (2022) and a supporting role in the HBO series The Gilded Age (2022). Blyth was born in Birmingham and grew up in Woodthorpe, a suburb of Nottingham. He is the son of soap opera producer Gavin Blyth, who passed away when he was 14. Blyth attended Arnold Hill Academy and Bilborough College. His mother Charlotte, a careers counselor, signed him up for drama classes at the Television Workshop. He also joined the National Youth Theatre. He went on to train at the Juilliard School in New York City, as had been his dream, graduating in 2020.
