[00:00:22] How you doing? I have to say, man, I heard an interview you did with All the Smoke podcast in June of 2025. What a great interview that was. You guys just chopping it up. Just a great interview, I thought, for a variety of reasons. Just wanted to throw that out there. Thank you, man. I appreciate it. Yeah. So let me ask you, there's been a lot of people that have gone down the same road you have in your field, right? Will Smith, Most Deaf, Common, Ice Cube. Is there an artist's path that you admire most from that group or from maybe a person I haven't named yet?

[00:00:54] From that group, of course, Ice Cube. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What's the toughest part of that transition for you? Has there been a tough part going from this guy who's done some amazing things musically to the world of acting? Yeah. I wouldn't say the toughest, but I would say the most respected part of being an actor is the commitment. Yeah. Is it much more than the music world?

[00:01:23] Yeah, absolutely. It just feels like if I was explaining it to a rapper or artist, I would tell them it's a long video shoot that lasts about a month. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? It lasts like a couple of weeks straight, like a video shoot that you're shooting all day long. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm going to get into the takeover in a moment, but I got to say, though, I'm going to get into the way it was shot, which is unbelievable.

[00:01:48] But like Hotel Lobby, the video you made, is another great example of just things that are really well shot. I just kind of, you mentioned music video and it got me thinking. Thank you. Thank you. No, we drew that one up for sure. I wrote that, me and take off. So we had a great psychedelic day and we were watching Fear Loathing in Las Vegas. And we were like, we should see Hotel Lobby like that. And we flew out to Vegas and we laid it down. Yeah. You have the glasses.

[00:02:17] You have the hat. So I get the, you know, Fear Loathing in Las Vegas. Yeah. It's a great, great tie-in. Let me ask you this. You've done some amazing collabs in your world. Post Malone, Bieber, Travis Scott. Is there an acting collab you eventually want to do? Yeah. I love to do like a huncho jack film with me and Travis. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I have to say though, I haven't, I've watched a lot of screeners. I ain't ever seen anything like this, the way this was shot.

[00:02:46] Like, I mean, Greg has an unbelievable background in visual effects, the VFX. Holy cow. For those that haven't seen it yet, the only thing I can compare it to is like Sin City or Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse. Like this movie, like there's no time that goes by. Like I see screeners and I'm like, I've seen this before. Well, I've seen this and I haven't seen this before. So that was refreshing. You know what I'm saying? It's refreshing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's trendsetting, man. Shout out to Greg at Trescope.

[00:03:13] He, he, he, he really, he really like a coach, coach Popovich on the court, you know? Like he, he, he, he very strict and very like, um, I want, I want to say very like, uh, detailed to the vision, you know what I'm saying? He making sure like we see the vision. And then sometimes it's like, shit, we completely, I don't, cause it's so, it's green screen, the whole, the movie. So you have to like read the script and put, place yourself in the world to actually get

[00:03:42] into the character and actually get into the world. And also Greg actually knows what he's doing when it goes to like to edit. So he's already editing in his head. That's the part that we don't see. Like, it's like the fact that he's already editing in his head. We like, okay, cool. You sure that this bit is going, you know what I'm saying? And be a great bit because it's just like the world is so, it's so straight animated. Like you got to really sit yourself into the, into the story and into the character.

[00:04:10] So like Greg and, and, and this new animation is like trendsetting. It's, it's called live action. Um, we put ourselves in the world to where it's like half human, half anime world. So it was like, it's something new that ain't never been done. And, and, and I like, and I like the vision. Yeah, man. And it makes it a completely different movie. Like I, I appreciate the fact that all of you kind of went out and said, you know what, let's do something different. Let's not do something that the last 20 films before this is done.

[00:04:39] Like it adds, it adds a whole new perspective, right? Exactly. Exactly. And then of course we shine a light on these cars and shine a light on Atlanta and shining light on the takeover and showing what these new young kids out here doing instead of drag racing, they're taking over the three corners of a four way street and circling up and doing donuts, which is the craziest shit ever. You know, it's just like, I don't know what the, you know, but it's just like, we had

[00:05:07] to, we had to, we had to let them know that Atlanta is on something, on something new. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. I've been to Atlanta twice. I love it. I love it. Uh, let me ask you this. Um, from going to the green screen to seeing the final product, did that blow you away? Oh, really? Like you said, it, it, it don't, the picture that I had in my head, it didn't, it didn't match after, after the editing, after we seen the film, you know what I'm saying? So like, like I said, like you just got to really trust Greg Vision and he sees the

[00:05:36] whole world while you shooting it anyway. So it's just, it's game time when you see it. I was like, oh shit, I was blown away. And like I said, to be acting alongside Billy Zane, um, to Raya is a blessing. And to have my nephew take off to come do his appearance in there, it was, it was a blessing. That had to mean a lot to you, huh? Yes, sir. It did. It did. Yeah. Do you think he would have followed you down this path? Um, eventually if, if, if the unfortunate events didn't happen the way they did? Absolutely. Absolutely.

[00:06:05] Um, we talked about, we talked about films and like I said, even when we shot, um, Hotel Lobby, he didn't want to shoot it no other way. Like we were tapping into that kind of like acting slash music video world in our last album, um, only built for infinity links. So we shot like a couple, a couple of videos that made like, you know, that was standing alongside films. Yeah. And, um, like I said, he was excited.

[00:06:34] He was a supporter of whatever, anything that I did. So I'm glad that, that I got him to do the film with me. Uh, I had two more questions for you. What do you miss most about him? Um, his energy, his guidance. Yeah. Energy and guidance. Yeah. Great answer. I was stunned dude by the, you know, I was doing a deep dive into your life. I was surprised and amazed by how many lives he's actually touched. Like I couldn't get over it. Like every comment is about you guys and him, but anyway, that's a story from the time, but you, you guys are a hell of a family. Uh, let me tell you this. Thank you.

[00:07:04] Is there anything in your personal life that fueled your character that you felt that you used for Guy Miller? Do you feel like there's anything that you experienced as a human being that you brought to the film? Absolutely. Um, the family aspect. I'm a, I'm an uncle of takeoff. I'm an uncle of my nephew, Lingo. And, um, just having that big brother ship, you know what I'm saying? And that family, that, that, that, that blood knowing that you have to get, you have to do

[00:07:33] whatever it takes to go get your, your nephews out of any situation, out of trouble. Um, I felt like that tied in with my life and that's how I was raised. It was just like, do anything it takes, do anything, do anything. Anything that goes when it's about your family, when somebody messes your family, you, you gotta be the leader. You gotta be the head of the house. And, um, that was the most important part of, of Guy Miller that I chanted into. Yeah. Yeah. You were terrific, man. You did a great job on this.

[00:08:02] Um, you know, when you're watching the movie unfold, you're like, okay, the first couple minutes are, it's just going to be the introduction, but Greg does the whole movie. And I don't want to beat a dead horse, but like, it's just so great that the whole movie was like this. I, I, I'm a big cinematography guy. I just, I have so much more appreciation for this. I feel like this, this had to put in countless hours of work from everybody involved. Yes, sir. The commitment part. That's what I was talking about. You have to be overly committed. Like I said, it's the same world we move in every day, but it's like three different

[00:08:30] worlds and, um, on the green screen set. So that, that part was great. But like you said, like you really gotta be overly committed to this because you put in a lot of hours to, to, to create this new world. Hey, when you have a moment with like Billy Zane, are you picking his brain as far as his acting, you know, expertise and his acting background? Are you asking questions? Are you watching? Yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. You know, I picked his brain, especially about Titanic and being so young and ace in that

[00:08:57] role, kind of like what I'm doing now is like, they probably didn't know what the fuck they was doing. It was just like, they were hungry and, and, and, and ready to make history. And they did. That was an instant classic. So I'm trying to like get at least 40 to 50% in a classic, in the classic world would take over. Yeah. Just, just his mentorship and just knowing like how they take the job serious. You know, um, I look at it like music. I'm in the studio.

[00:09:25] If I'm in the studio with someone young, I'm pretty sure they'd be looking at how my craft is, how I take his tears, how I work, how my work ethic, how I show up, um, every day on time, overly committed, um, with a great positive energy, knowing that we, we, we, we have a program to, to push this mission. We all programmed to get to this other side. And he, he showed me that he showed me that. I would never recommend the film that I didn't love myself.

[00:09:54] I really love takeover. I'll end with this. Who's going to win the NBA finals. Oh, that's a good question. I'm going with Anthony Edwards, man from Atlanta, man. Timberwolves. Dude, are they not something special or what they want again last night? Like they are something special. I'm a big fan, man. Thank you for this. And I am so excited for people's reaction to take over. Have a great day. Thank you for your time. Yes, sir. Thank you so much.
